Today I bring you an OOTD, straight from one of the most fashionable venues in London- Somerset House. The gorgeous building, which plays host to London Fashion Week, was last weekend the setting for the Pick Me Up graphic art exhibition in the Embankment Galleries, and my boyfriend and I went along to check it out. The exhibition was only a ten-day long affair, and showcased tonnes of artists’ incredible work- some were even there to chat with, and it really was a feast for the eyes. I could see no better opportunity to bust out my new graphic Daft Punk tee, and I centred my outfit around that, I even got to meet someone VERY special, but more on that coming up!
As I mentioned, my outfit was all about my new Daft Punk tee. I’m super excited that they’re back on the airwaves and am totally itching for their album to hit my doormat. I picked up this tee off Ebay here, and I have quickly fallen in love with it. To toughen up the graphics I opted for my new Motel Rocks skirt which is now just £15 in the sale here, but stay tuned for a best biker skirts special coming up on the blog for alternatives. To keep warm, I threw over my coat from Fount at Loveclothing.com. I wrote a whole post all about this coat a little while back which you can check out here, and you can pick it up here. Finally I finished off the look with my H&M boots which are almost the only thing I’ve had on my feet since January, and my Forever 21 sunnies which I posted about last week here.
The highlight of my day, despite the array of great art surrounding me, was no doubt meeting Henry Holland. I spotted him admiring Hattie Stewart‘s awesome pieces and went over for a little chat. He was the nicest guy in the world and totally humored me during my little fangirl moment and we even had a photo. Cheers Henry!
My absolute favourite room of the exhibition was set out like a tattoo parlour. The skull insignia and old-style tattoo designs were seriously up my street and I even came away with a print by Patch Keyes from Puck Collective which you can check out on Instagram here. The only other thing I picked up, which was exciting all the same, was this tee (here) from Lumberjack Joe. Of course it also has a skull on it, and a cool tarot card design, and the slightly oversized fit perfectly suits my style at the moment. You can get your hands on this awesome but well-priced tee (just £15!) on the Lumberjack Joe site here.
That’s it for today’s OOTD, I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know what you think of today’s look by leaving me a comment below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
