Behind The Scenes: High Street Fashion Week

IMG_0891

Hey guys and welcome to today’s behind the scenes post! If you read Monday’s post (here) you’ll know that this week is High Street Fashion Week here in London, which means Boxpark in Shoreditch has been taken over by the newest brands to hit the high street. All week you can check out the latest affordable pieces and this weekend will see a whole host of catwalk shows, all put together with high street clothes! I was lucky enough to land a ticket for Monday night’s press preview and so today’s post is a behind the scenes look at some of my favourite brands that are a part of High Street Fashion Week. Having met some incredible people (and other lovely bloggers) there’ll be plenty more coming up on the blog with some of these brands, as there were definitely some great new finds there that I think you guys will love.

My favourite new brand discovery from the evening was undoubtedly Lillies of the Alley, whose quirky tees are just my style. The quality was amazing, the prices are great and the designs are awesome, so I’m a big fan. I spoke to the lovely Natalie who started up the brand and she talked me through the ethos of the brand, where the name came from (she was inspired by the awesome St. Mark’s area in NY) and how there’s a greater need for more offbeat pieces that are affordable on the high street. Hear hear! Here are just a few pieces from the selection that I fell in love with.

I also met the super stylish ladies behind Chic And Geek which is a great new online store packed with affordable must-haves. After flicking through their lookbook I can tell you that some pretty exciting pieces are about to hit their store- there’s so much amazing monochrome! For on-trend pieces with a bit of a difference, I’d definitely recommend checking them out.

Finally I got to meet Fazane Malik whose womenswear brand completely stole my heart. Fazane was showcasing her autumn/winter collection which was totally my bag with all the gorgeous greys and moody blacks. The classic shapes and cuts were very Theory-esque, really well-made and of course, affordable. Her pieces are on the higher end of the high street, but for one-off pieces and classics that really will last a lifetime these are definitely worth the money. The textures and attention to detail were second to none and I was loving rifling through all the pieces!

A big thanks to High Street Fashion Week for inviting me along to this fun event, and to all the lovely brands who I got to talk to along the way. I also want to shout out to fellow blogger Georgina Goodman who I had a good old chat with, it was lovely to meet you! You guys should definitely check out her blog. That’s all for today guys, let me know what you think of today’s pick by leaving me a comment below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
