Hello and welcome to this week’s She Hearts Sunday! Today I’ve got an exciting London-based exhibition to tell you about as well as plenty of fashion and beauty tidbits by way of Youtube. Without further ado, grab yourself your festive drink of choice and let’s get started.
She Hearts Tartan
At the moment, tartan has been high on my list of favourite trends. It looks great when teamed with layers for autumn/winter and those gorgeous reds and greens just scream Christmas. While I’ve been wearing my ASOS tartan skirt to death (click here for that) it seems Jenn of Clothes Encounters has also been coveting ‘plaid’. Jenn uploaded a great tartan lookbook this week and I can never get enough of her amazing outfit ideas and constant inspiration, check it out!
She Hearts Valentino: Master of Couture
Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more great exhibitions squeezed into London before Christmas, then Valentino hits Somerset House. I still have a list along as my arm of exhibitions I just have to see before they finish, and it seems to be growing ever longer! As well as Tim Walker’s Storyteller, The Wellcome Gallery’s Death: A Self Portrait and of course the V&A’s Hollywood Costume exhibition, all which I’ve featured on here, I’m desperate to see this celebration of the Valentino legacy. The red carpet is always teeming with gorgeous fairytale Valentino creations, and there are 130 amazing haute couture pieces worn by the rich and famous to be ogled at this exhibition. The exhibition is as much about Valentino himself and the painstaking detail of the dresses’ manufacture as it about the final out-of-this world pieces. I’ll see you there! For more information on Valentino: Master of Couture you can visit the Somerset House site here.
She Hearts Jean Shrimpton
Vintage lovers, this one’s for you, as some of my favourite Youtubers, Pixiwoo, have just uploaded this Jean Shrimpton make up tutorial and it’s safe to say I’m in love! She’s one of the ultimate ’60s icons and her look was all doll eyes and big lashes, it’s a look I often try to recreate myself, and I don’t think that this sort of look will ever truly go out of style. If you want to find out how to give your make up look a ’60s overhaul then look no further…
