Well hello guys and welcome to my latest outfit post. Today’s look revolves around Boohoo’s latest Blogger x Dress Of The Month campaign, which sees a group of bloggers style the same dress, in different ways. Of course, never one to shy away from a fashion challenge, I agreed to take part in this exciting collab, not knowing what dress would arrive on my doorstep. We were all set the task of styling up this month’s dress in our own way, without knowing what it would look like. You can imagine how comfortable I was when I opened up the parcel to find a cute black dress inside with lace detail. The dress immediately felt very me and I knew I could style it up easily with my existing pieces.
I first wore this dress with a faux fur coat and heels for Boohoo’s Christmas party, which you can catch on Instagram, but felt that I wanted to find a way to style this up for daytime too, so it could be a multi-functional piece in my wardrobe. The dress called Leona, (here) is a satin shift dress with gorgeous lace detail that ties at the neck, and then has a semi-plunge neckline so from the outset it does feel like an occasion dress. I knew I wanted to make it more casual and maybe even more whimsical.
Firstly I decided to throw on my super-fun patched jacket. The jacket itself is from Disturbia, and I patched it myself with patches from here, there and everywhere. If you want to know more about it, it pretty much has its own blog post here. Next I went for a bright red lip to accent some of the patches on the jacket, and went for this vintage choker that I found on Depop, to keep the look quite 90s, which I always love. As they just don’t come off my feet, I wore my Vagabond lace-up Tyra boots, they’re just so comfy and give me the added height I need.
I thought this little twist on an otherwise dressy dress gave it more mileage, and I’ll definitely be wearing it this way when it’s not being popped on as a party frock. I absolutely adore pieces that can go from day to night, and occasion to occasion as it really means you can make the most of them, and get the most value out of them in terms of cost-per-wear. That’s it for today’s little outfit post featuring my newest wardrobe addition. Let me know what pieces from Boohoo you’ve had your eye on at the moment- I’d love to know. Until next time…
