Summer time is in full swing here in the UK, and everyone’s talking about their next getaway. The beach is the ultimate place to be, and that’s why it’s the main focus of Tommy Hilfiger’s latest campaign. When I was contacted a few weeks ago by Hilfiger to test out one of their summer watches, I jumped at the chance. Not only are their new designs drop-dead gorgeous, they’re also not going to break the bank. I’d go as far as saying I would genuinely splurge on this myself, and now can’t imagine a day without it on my wrist. So, please welcome Serena, we had such fun shooting her in the most summery, beachy way possible and now I’ll convince you why she should be your new best friend too.
Of course, the first point we should talk about is price. At £145 this watch is obviously an investment purchase, but one that will last. The greatest detail is evident in the pictures, but there are even subtle touches like the TH on the dial, the tiny Hs on the buttons and more obvious from afar, the sub dials which I find make it more utilitarian- something I look for in my accessories. Overall I love that this watch has a masculine, tough edge, while still being a feminine timepiece. The luxe touches make it extremely special, but still wearable.
While this high-shine, stainless steel watch is certainly a show-stopper, there’s no overt branding or gaudy design here. The Tommy Hilfiger logo is there, but again it’s subtle and in keeping with the feel of the watch. I love that this is a completely everyday wearable piece, and it suits so many looks and occasions. The Tommy catalogues display the watch amongst beach buggies with stacked surfboards, and while the watch certainly fits and evokes that surf vibe, it also does formal so well and smartens up all my many ensembles instantly.
Of course, you can probably tell, it’s love, and I can’t thank the Hilfiger team enough for giving me the chance to shoot this gorgeous piece, and never ever take it off my wrist again! I hope this gave you a little insight into the piece and quashed any belief that you might not be able to afford it yourself. This summer splurge is definitely one I condone! That’s it for today, don’t forget to check out yesterday’s Paris Haul for more (here), and I’ll see you soon. Until next time…
