Behind The Scenes: Missguided’s SS14 Press Party

Hello and welcome to today’s behind the scenes post! On Wednesday last week I headed over to Missguided’s SS14 press party, and I thought I’d share the experience with you. As expected, the event was filled with absolutely gorgeous pieces that are set to hit their online store very soon. As well as an abundance of on-trend pieces there was a photoshoot area! Missguided amped up the usual photobooth tradition, by inviting in one of their photographers to shoot some awesome photos of everyone there, with props and then even a polaroid camera. You can see all the photoshoot shots on Missguided’s Facebook here.

There were also beverages from The Shop NW10 who made THE BEST cocktails, all named after famous fashionistas, like Mary-Kate Olsen and Alexa Chung and served in the vessel-du-jour, a mason jar. Snack-wise, it was all about the tacos and multi-flavoured meringues, and it made for a really upbeat social atmosphere where I met a tonne of bloggers I adore. Aswell as attending the event with my partner-in-blogging-crime Jade from Nouvelle Noire, we met the incredible photographer Laura Allard-Fleischl who also blogs as Ponyhunter.

There were too many lovely bloggers there to chat to everyone, but we bumped into the lovely Amy Valentine whose videos I adore and had a little chat to Sammi from Beauty Crush, who is just as genuine as she seems on screen. Later we had a natter to Kayla Hadlington whose offbeat style I love, and Georgina of Georgina Does. We also spotted Helen Melonlady and Leanne Lim-Walker whose channels I also watch and love! It was a great night, put on by Missguided and I’ve now got a wishlist as long as my arm for next season’s stuff.

If you’re into space-age, structured pieces like me, there were more than a few Fifth-Element style Milla numbers which totally caught my eye, as well as a barrage of bold denim, boho styles, and pastels in spades. As I’ve come to expect from Missguided, the pieces were so on-point and edgy, yet affordable despite looking far more high end, definitely worth checking out. Until next time…
