Get The Look: The Marilyn Dress You Need This Party Season

Hold the phone, I have found THE dress of the season, in my eyes anyway. While it seems this year (and most to be honest) is the year of the sequin, I’m getting tired of the shining, shimmering, splendid (you can tell it’s Christmas I’m quoting Disney’s Aladdin!) What I love party dress wise, is a timeless classic piece that you can keep forever, and wear season on season that will always be a showstopper, because quite frankly, you’re not going to be wearing it all that often. Being the Marilyn obsessive I am, when I spotted this perfect piece, I wanted to jump with joy. Finally a gorgeously made party dress, at a spot-on price, that will always be amazing. The best thing of all, it’s more than a little bit like Marilyn’s uber famous, iconic, Seven-Year-Itch steam-grate dress.

I’m not normally one to browse in Coast, but when I spotted this dress at just £65 in the sale, I knew I had to share it. It’s in my basket on their site, I’m just waiting for payday to head to the checkout and into my party dreams. With the amazing new Chanel No.5 Marilyn advert making adverts actually watchable for the first time ever, and ‘Always, Marilyn’ now out on DVD for Christmas watching, there’s been no better time than to get your Marilyn on and embrace your vintage vixen. The great thing about this frock, is that it does have a more nineties lean than Marilyn’s original, so fans of that shape and trend right now will be rocking a trillion different trends at once! What’s not to love?

That’s it for today’s post, let me know what you think of today’s affordable, vintage-inspired find by leaving me a comment below and/or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe, I’d love to know. Until next time…
