Sale time has rolled around again, and one sale I love is Urban Outfitters’, who almost always have a sale going on anyway (there’s always a sneaky little sale room in each branch). The reductions are always great and being as I shop there so often anyway it seems silly not to make the most of the huge sales that come along. So today I thought I’d share with you my top picks from the current sale, which I think are particularly well-priced or well-discounted, and of course still super stylish. Though I try not to let trends dictate my looks, it’s always nice to bag a piece in a sale which isn’t going to instantly look dated, and I think these have great fashion mileage left in them.
How this top has been reduced, I will never know. This gorgeous cutwork top is so unique and gorgeously intricate and I think it gives a great boho feel to any outfit. This is festival gold and the best top ever for hot days- there’s hardly any fabric! You can wear a bralet or bandeau underneath to keep your modesty, or even throw this over your favourite bikini top. If you love layering, this is going to be a dream and for £16 it’s an absolute steal. Get it here.
This tee I’ve chosen for its unmistakable Romeo + Juliet feel. If you read my Baz Luhrmann inspired post (here), you’ll know I’m batty about all things Baz and particularly the good old 1996 R+J movie. This tee features a Madonna (and the whole film is teeming with religious insignia like this), so this is definitely prime for punking up and is a nice twist on the usual religious symbol of choice for alternative dressing- the cross. At £22 this is well-priced being as it’s Bitching & Junkfood which is a fab brand that I adore! Get it here.
No one can get through the summer months without a pair of killer sunnies, and if you didn’t know already, neon is huge right now. Why not combine the two, (and avoid looking like a lollipop lady) by sticking to neon detail on your glasses instead of head to toe on your body. These slick £8 glasses are almost universally flattering with their cat eye shape and have uber cool lenses to boot. Get them here.
There's really no need for me to explain why this tee made it into this post. Of course it has a skull on it, which pretty much ensures it's going to be in my wardrobe at some point. I love the tattoo-esque design and baseball style sleeves. These tees are super flattering for ladies who aren't a huge fan of flashing loads of arm as they cover up what is usually the bulkiest part of the arm and cut off parallel to the waist, drawing all the attention there. For £15 this is well-priced and easy to throw on with skinnies and great to tuck into skater skirts. Get it here.
If you love designer pieces but your bank balance doesn’t, then how about saving a fair few pennies on this House of Holland dress. It’s a twist on this year’s favoured midi dress as it’s a tee dress shape, (which is super flattering), and will look just as great with tights and boots come winter as it will right now with flatforms. Ever since meeting Henry (name drop alert!) I’ve become even more obsessed with his designs, just because he geniunely is the nicest guy ever! The tie-dye pattern is bang-on right now and never truly goes out of style. Get it here.
That’s it for today’s post, I hope your weeks are all off to a good start! Let me know what you think of these pieces, and if you would pick any of them up for yourself by leaving me a comment below and/or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
