She Hearts Sunday #37

Hello and welcome to this week’s She Hearts Sunday! Today I have six great hearts for you that traverse fashion and beauty, go behind-the-scenes, back in time and even have a superhero lean. What’s not to love? If you’re having a lazy one and want some afternoon entertainment, let the hearts help you out.

She Hearts…Beauty Crush + Missguided

This week the lovely Sammi of Beauty Crush uploaded a great video going behind the scenes on the latest Missguided shoot. Having studied Fashion Styling, Sammi was putting her theory into practice on this great shoot, and it took me right back to my sunny shoot days in Grazia over in India! This shoot looks like so much fun, it’s so well put together and of course, I LOVE the clothes! If you want a sneaky peek of what’s to come on Missguided, then check this out.

She Hearts…Flaunt Magazine’s Grunge Editorial

Oh my, could there be an editorial that better represented my wardrobe loves? Probably not. This grunge glam shoot for Flaunt Magazine features gorgeous model Ava Smith who I think makes the clothes look even more bad-ass. There’s something late ’90s, early noughties Milla Jovovich about this that’s making it particularly swoon-worthy and if all my outfits looked like this for the rest of my days I’d be one happy lady. You can see the whole editorial here.

She Hearts…Vogue’s Mad About The Girl Lecture

The Vogue Festival may have been and gone, but luckily the Vogue team have uploaded all the lectures from the event onto their Youtube channel. Mad About The Girl is a lecture about the growing world of blogging, street style and the way we approach fashion with all the social media we have on hand. Anna Dello Russo, Susie Lau of Style Bubble and the amazing Garance Dore were being questioned during the lecture and I can’t think of a more fitting panel to listen to on the topics featured.

She Hearts…Candice Swanepoel Going Catwoman

Words cannot describe how much I’m loving Candice Swanepoel’s look in her latest editorial for Vogue Australia. Jillian Davison has done an incredible job of styling Candice up all Catwoman in the shoot and you know me and my love for all things superhero! To be completely honest, (and entirely geeky) the look is just as much Catwoman as it is Black Canary who remains to be one of my all-time favourite comic characters. You can see the entire editorial on the M.A.P site here.

She Hearts…Smoky Grunge Make Up

Needless to say, I love me some grunge, and of course a make up look that compliments my ever growing grungy clothing collection is welcome. I always look to Sam and Nic of Pixiwoo for great tutorials on Youtube and this latest offering is so me, I had to try it. Despite not having half the products mentioned, I routed around in my make up bag for similar things and recreated it at home, and I am in LOVE with this look. Now I have a new everyday face and I can’t get enough of it. I can’t recommend this tutorial highly enough.

She Hearts…Ultra Vanities at Goldsmiths’

If you love all things make up, and vintage, then this is definitely one for you. This weekend Goldsmith’s Hall opened their summer exhibition Ultra Vanities which showcases beautiful, vintage compact cases dating back to the ’20s right through ’til the 1970s. The Goldsmiths’ Hall has been transformed into a 1930s Parisian salon and houses the collection which is on show until the 20th July. With Gatsby being the film du-jour and the ’20s having a huge comeback at the moment, it seems a fitting time to go check out this glamorous display of vintage pieces, I’ll see you there!
