Today's OOTD name was something that one of my best friends came up with on this particular shoot. I'm heavily into moody tones at the moment, a grungy spin on summer with a bit of sci-fi thrown in for good measure, so I think Space Biker kind of sums up this look. We were out on South Bank to check out The Hayward Gallery's Light Show, (which was awesome). I absolutely love that area of South Bank, I LOVE the sci-fi-esque, Bond villain-style brutalist buildings, the sprawling book stalls you can sometimes find under the bridge, the skate park and the OXO Tower Wharf where there are a tonne of great little shops and great backdrops for grungier photos. These snaps were taken a few weeks back so no, I haven't dyed my hair again, these are pre-peroxide!
On this particular day, I opted for a gorgeous dress from Matalan as the base of my outfit. I picked this up for just £15, but it’s now £10 in the sale, here. I can’t rave about this enough because it’s super flattering and the fabric feels so much more luxe than you’d expect. Over the top I threw an Urban Outfitters cocoon cardigan that I got in the sale (just visible), and my beloved faux leather biker from Mango. To keep the look more tough against the girly shape of the dress, I went for my H&M chain, my Forever 21 sunnies and my clunky H&M boots which I love to death. My bag as usual (I can’t bear to part with it) is an old friend from Max C London.
So this is one of my favourite buildings, it looks like someone should be concocting an evil plan in there, or discussing a top secret space expedition, I just think it’s amazing. I’d highly recommend having a wander around South Bank on a nice day, it really is a great place to soak up the sun and get a bit of culture- especially when the book stall’s there. I love rifling through all the old obscure books, this time I picked up some sci-fi ones from the ’50s and ’60s and I’m loving them. Anyway, that’s all for today’s post, let me know what you guys thought of the look and what best describes your look at the moment by leaving me a comment below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. I’d love to know! Until next time…
