Get the Look: Pop Art Style For Less

Hello and welcome to today’s get the look post. Ever since Phillip Lim brought pop art back into the fashion limelight with his incredible pieces, such as the famous ‘Break Up’ jumper and clutch, I’ve been clamouring to get my hands on something similar. Having always been a huge fan of all things pop art and comic book inspired, I wanted to find some pieces that really stood out and nailed the trend without looking too gimmicky or too young. As you may know, the amazing Roy Lichtenstein’s work is currently being celebrated in an exhibition at the Tate London, and being the King of pop art, there are some amazing and yet affordable Roy Lichtenstein pieces to be had at the gift shop, which can look just as chic as Phillip Lim’s modern take in your wardrobe.

This tee, featuring artwork which Lim must have taken inspiration from for his collection, is super striking and a great on-trend alternative to the more expensive Philip Lim pieces. You’re getting a genuine Roy Lichtenstein licensed piece for just £25, so it can be a little piece of history as well as a fashion piece that you’ll wear for seasons to come. I picked this up in a small and I absolutely love it. I’m going to be teaming mine with mustard and reds to really pick up the colour against black.

For those not wanting to go all out with a statement tee, a more demure scarf might just be your thing. Adding pop art accessories has been a huge trend- with the ‘Break Up’ clutch being papped on everyone at recent fashion weeks. This £60 Oh, Jeff scarf is super cute, yet still packs punch without overwhelming an outfit. Team it with an LBD and heels for a more sophisticated look or play it down by tying it to your favourite handbag and giving just a hint of pop art to your everyday look.

That’s it for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it and it might help you save a little money while staying chic. Let me know what great finds you’ve come across lately and what you think of today’s pieces by leaving me a comment below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
