It’s time for a wintery OOTD and today’s outfit was one that I sported recently to visit Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland here in London. Being as I didn’t get a chance to go last year, I really wanted to make the time to visit this December and soak up the festive atmosphere. I knew it’d be absolutely freezing out there in the park amongst the German style market, all the rides and attractions and so I opted for some snugly, comfy pieces that were both practical and fashionable (I hope!)
The first thing I pulled out of my wardrobe that day was this super cosy jumper dress that I got for Christmas last year from Miss Selfridge. I love the aztec/fairisle print that is woven into this jumper, it’s not quite one or the other, but it does have that just-off-the-slopes vibe that I adore this time of year. The many colours in this jumper dress make it easy to pair with so many things, particularly mustard and red which are two of my favourites. I chose to go with black leggings and a black vintage coat so as to not detract from the print, and just added my bright red River Island bag for a complimentary pop of colour. To cinch in my waist I’ve added my studded belt from New Look which I think makes a knit like this slightly edgier and of course, more figure-flattering. Finally, I’ve gone for my Primark glitter boots for extra festive glamour, and you can read all about these Giuseppe Zanotti style boots in a blog post I wrote here.
Being as it was a day full of festive fun, I went a little Christmas crazy with my nails. I painted them with Boots No.7’s Devil’s Delight which is one of my favourite red polishes (available here), and topped it with Barry M’s Red Glitter which for me is Christmas in a bottle. For the accent nail, which I painted to look like baubles (so geeky!) I’ve used Urban Outfitters’ Electra which I think is a great high street dupe for Deborah Lippman’s Happy Birthday.
As always here are some Instagram snaps from our day at Winter Wonderland. Be sure to check it out if you’re in or around London between now and the 6th of January. For more information on the event you can visit the site here. That’s it for today’s OOTD, let me know what you think about this look by leaving me a comment or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
