Get the Look: Graphic Balenciaga Style Sweatshirts for Less

Everyone who’s anyone on the street style scene was papped in Balenciaga’s eighties inspired sweatshirts during fashion week in September, and now the high street’s caught on, you can be too. As well as the ever-popular Phillip Lim, Markus Lupfer and Kenzo knitwear and sweatshirts photographed everywhere during September, Balenciaga’s ‘egyptofunk’ graphic sweats were high on the fashion week must-have list. With a distinct borrowed-from-your-younger-brother vibe with retro graphics and an oversized shape, these futuristic stand-out sweatshirts were snapped up by editors and bloggers alike from far and wide. Here’s where you can get yourself some great lookalikes.

While the designer price tag of this sweater might be too much for your budget, there’s always another option. While I love this eighties-style sci-fi-esque sweatshirt from Balenciaga, it’s a high street alternative I’ll be opting for.

And here it is. This gorgeous sweatshirt from Monki is a great look-a-like and thick and snug for winter too. This high street version will only set you back £30 and has a very similar sci-fi and text combination going on, your mates will definitely be doing a double-take.

If that’s not enough, there’s even a second sweater I’ve found online that is almost identical to the original Balenciaga piece. This ‘Join A Weird Trip’ sphinx sweat was one of the most highly snapped-up sweaters of the season, despite its hefty price tag. The fun egyptian graphic and crazy band-tee style type make a definite fashion statement, but you can still get your hands on a similar piece for less.

This Modekungen sweater comes in at £55 and that includes free worldwide shipping, so you really can’t go wrong. As I said, the graphics are almost identical and it’ll take the keenest of fashion eyes to spot this as an alternative to the real deal. Modekungen also have a version of the ‘Special Presentation’ sweater which was highly-papped at Fashion Week too, just click here for that.

That’s it for this week’s get the look and designer double post, I hope it’ll help you stay chic while saving you some money (especially this close to Christmas!) Let me know what you thought of the Balenciaga collection and if you’ll be picking up any of these look-a-likes by leaving me a comment below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
