It’s Sunday again guys and that means one thing: it’s time for some hearts. Every week I try and bring you exciting new content that might help inspire and inform and this week I have fashion and beauty videos, music news and an exciting exhibition to talk about, so without further ado, let’s get into it…
She Hearts…The Staves
So you may have seen on Instagram that I recently saw Bon Iver at Wembley Arena, and while the main gig itself was phenomenal, the support act was also outstanding. The Staves, three sisters from Watford, knocked it out of the park with their amazing harmonies and haunting vocals. The girls sound very much like a female Fleet Foxes, so if that’s your kind of thing, you should definitely check them out, their voices are utterly gorgeous. The Staves’ debut album Dead & Born & Grown is out now and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Anyway, enough gushing about my new favourite band, give them a listen for yourself.
She Hearts…Lisa Eldridge’s Christmas Gift Ideas
If you’re into beauty then the name Lisa Eldridge will not be foreign to you, but for those who aren’t familiar with her, she’s the ultimate make up artist to the stars and a brilliant Youtube personality. If anyone knows beauty, it’s Lisa, so when she uploaded this Christmas Gift Idea video the other day, I started making myself a little Christmas list already. For all the ladies you might have to buy for this Christmas, your Mum, sister, aunt, best friend there really will be at least one beauty item here that they’re bound to love. Let Lisa make Christmas a little easier for you…
She Hearts…Beauty Crush’s Autumn/Winter Clothes Rail
One of many Youtubers that I admire sartorially is Sammi of Beauty Crush whose edgy, very London style is right up my street. Sammi posts great lookbooks and OOTDs on Youtube and her blog, but just recently she uploaded this great video of her favourite autumn/winter pieces that she’s been wearing right now, and I absolutely love it. As well as bringing attention to some great high street pieces that are out there at the moment, she also provides styling tips and fashion tidbits along the way. If you need autumn/winter inspiration then definitely check it out as well as my latest midweek moodboard that’s all about autumn/winter styling ideas too, just click here for that.
She Hearts…’Death: A Self Portrait’ at The Wellcome Collection
The Wellcome Collection is one of my favourite places in London to check out new exhibitions, and when I read about their latest opening, I couldn’t contain myself. As we know, I’m skull-obsessed and so this latest exhibition couldn’t be more me. The exhibition features a collection of art and paraphernalia surrounding the theme of ‘death’, but I’m hoping and have been lead to believe that it’s less macabre and more an exploration of mortality, and for me? Well, it’s a chance to surround my self with more skull insignia after picking up The Book Of Skulls lately (which I talked about in last Sunday’s heart post here) and wear some of the great high street skull pieces that I posted about on Monday here. Check out the exhibition trailer below and click here to read all about it on The Wellcome Collection site.
She Hearts…Lana Del Rey Born To Die: The Paradise Edition
As if I didn’t love Lana Del Rey enough, now her extended edition of Born To Die has been released and it doesn’t disappoint. While some albums are re-released with just one or two new tracks on them, there are eight new songs for us Lana fans to fall in love with. Cheeky, controversial and always super chic, this girl isn’t going anywhere and I absolutely can’t wait to see her live next year. So, if your copy of Born To Die is looking a little forlorn, pick up The Paradise Edition now and don’t forget to check out my midweek moodboard all about her amazing style too, just click here.
That’s it for this week’s She Hearts Sunday. Let me know what you’ve been loving this week, from this post or otherwise by leaving me a comment below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
