Whenever I think of Autumn I instantly have images of being wrapped up with a coat and scarf, going out for a walk amongst falling leaves, getting a hot chocolate and generally watching the world go by. This imaginary perfect autumnal day actually occurred last weekend, when my boyfriend, our friend and I walked the Thames path to Chiswick on a cold but sunny day in London. Of course, I sported a fitting autumnal outfit that I thought coincided nicely with the cosy aesthetic of typical autumn and I thought I’d share it with you!
I’m wearing a thick mustard shift that I bought in the Miss Selfridge sale a few years ago, it’s long-sleeved and warm without being too bulky and I belted it in for an extra feminine touch with a River Island belt. I opted for Primark opaque tights that are really snugly and then my boots are from Timeless and I found them in a boutique in Cornwall. I noticed in Deichmann that they have an identical pair of red boots like this so for those interested, I’ll link them here. These are the perfect shoes for a day where you still want to look a little dressy but you want all the comfort of your converse. As an extra layer I have my vintage oversized blazer style coat that was gifted to me by a neighbour back home in Wales and I think I’d be lost without it now! As usual my skull-studded bag is from Max C London and it’s also, like my coat, an absolute staple for me.
My scarf was from River Island last winter and was a very welcome Christmas present from my boyfriend, but there are tonnes of great tartan pieces on the high street at the moment. For ultra affordable tartan scarves pop to Primark as they have some great colours in at the moment. Finally my sunglasses which were a necessity for such an insanely sunny autumn day were from H&M and were part of their summer collection. And that’s the look! Before I go, I thought I’d throw in some Instagram snaps from the day by the river, enjoy!
That’s it for today’s OOTD, but what do you think of this autumn/winter look? Let me know your thoughts by leaving me a comment below or by tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
