Get the Look: Skulls on the High Street

Skulls patterns and insignia are huge on the high street right now. No longer is Alexander McQueen the only place for a fashionable skull fix, the high street has cottoned on to the mega-trend and now it’s affordable for all of us. Today I’ve picked up my top favourite skull pieces that are available instore, online, are bang on-trend and best of all, won’t break the bank.

The first piece today is a belt from ASOS that has seriously stolen my heart. At £15 this belt is the perfect piece to toughen up an existing outfit that needs updating in your wardrobe. Studs are of course also huge right now so this piece gets double points for incorporating two trends in one. I’d team this with my favourite skinny jeans or over a feminine dress to outweigh the girlyness and add a rockier edge instead.

For a full-on, in-your-face skull look, this £27.99 Misumi for New Look jumper is the perfect piece. If you love statement jumpers (another a/w ’12 trend to watch out for!) then this will be right up your street. Teamed with super skinny jeans in black or a block colour this will really stand out and turn heads for the right reasons. The colder weather is definitely on the way and this oversized snugly jumper is the best remedy for a freezing temperature. This jumper reminds me of my Influence skull jumper which is available from New Look here and which I wore in a recent OOTD here, so be sure to check that out too!

Today’s third pick is the most affordable of all the pieces I have to show you, and it’s this pair of amazing skull studded leggings from Boohoo.com. Boohoo is a great online site to pick up on-trend pieces without the price tag and these leggings paired with simple black basics will look far more luxe than they cost. At £10 how can you afford to say no?

Finally for today it’s arguably the most wearable and least eccentric piece, and it’s this surprisingly demure jumper from Bershka. The skulls on this jumper are small and sparse and not as attention-grabbing as say those on the Misumi for New Look piece. I love that this jumper incorporates timeless polka dots, as this gives the jumper more longevity and means it’s more likely to stay on your love-list through trend changes. This will look super cute when teamed with a skater skirt and boots and is so easy to throw on over your favourite jeans too. At £19.99 I think this is really well priced and of course it’s a warm winter investment too!

That’s it for today’s get the look post, I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know what you think of today’s picks by leaving me a comment or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe, I’ll definitely be ordering the ASOS belt! Until next time…
