Now I know I mostly blog about fashion, sometimes beauty, but there is sometimes the rare occasion that I want to blog about ‘lifestyle’ or, or more correctly, interior related items. Decorating a home is always something us girls talk about and so I thought today for a bit of a change I’d show you my latest ‘DIY’ effort. I’m using that term loosely, as there is minimal effort required here. I’m not claiming to be Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen, nor am I Charles Saatchi, but I thought I’d show you ladies this little money saving chic way that I personally gave my home a vintage look, for less.
Recently on a trip to Paperchase I spotted three postcards, all the same theme, that I thought were utterly adorable and that I had to have. For about 90p each they were really inexpensive, but have a great vintage vibe and incorporate fun colours too. I believe the pictures are old Russian Olympic posters, relating to different events, and I just think they are so cute and quirky.
I popped to Asda where I found a pack of three lovely gold frames for £3.50 (get them here) and voila, I now have a collection of gorgeous pieces that I can hang up on the wall, for about £6. These will look great over a bed lined up as pictured, or hung in a more random order in a living room or hallway to add some colour. You really can’t go wrong, and I don’t think personally that they look as cheap as they ended up being. The prints have a lovely worn look and that ‘I found these at a flea market’ type vibe which I quite like. But what do you think about them?
That’s it for today’s quick get the look post for the home. Let me know your money saving tips for home decorating by leaving me a comment or by tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
