OOTD: Shopping the High Street

An OOTD post on a Friday has become something of a tradition at the moment, so today I thought I’d show you a recent casual outfit that I wore whilst shopping on Oxford Street. This season I’ve been really into more simple ensembles, in more muted shades, so grey and black have been high up on my love list. This outfit taps into my penchant for easy, scandi style daywear but I’ve added a bit of colour and interest with my accessories. Let’s get into it.

I’m wearing a light grey jumper that I got in an Oh My Love pop up sale just off Brick Lane and which I have been absolutely loving. It is one of my go-to pieces for layering and mixing and matching with pretty much everything. You can’t go wrong with a good grey jumper. I’m also wearing high waisted black skinnies from New Look that are mandatory with this top as it’s cropped and autumnal midriff is a definite no-no! My black coat which is a new favourite, was gifted to me by a neighbour and is almost like a long black blazer, it fits in perfectly with this season’s oversized and masculine coat trend, I love that it’s light and goes with everything.

My boots, which have barely left my feet at the moment were from a boutique in St. Ives but there are similar ones around, just look for wedge boots in particular as these are literally the comfiest shoes I own, but they’re still on-trend. On my nails I have Miss Sporty’s Clubbing Polish in 320 Pop Fiction which is a great bright blue, (a big nail trend for autumn/winter!) and then my rings are from H&M (right) and New Look (left), the New Look skull ring is available here for just £3.50.

Lastly, I’ve added some extra interest to my outfit in the form of this amazing necklace, also from New Look. I featured this necklace in a post last month all about statement necklaces and couldn’t resist picking it up. For £5.99 I think this is a real bargain and so easy to throw over winter jumpers for a more glam look, you can pick it up here.

As usual I thought I’d throw in some snaps from the day, and this particular day was rife with fashion fabulousness, so there’s quite a bit to see!

1. A close up of my nails 2. The Vaseline Pink Bubbly Stand in Selfridges on Oxford Street 3. A cutesy panda print on a blazer in Primark Oxford Street.

Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton at Selfridges Oxford Street, simply incredible!

My only three buys of the day: 1. Primark shirt £9 2. Greeny/mustard top from Forever 21 for £4.99 3. Amazing Star Wars jumper from Forever 21 for £16.75. Watch out for these pieces in upcoming OOTDS!

That’s it for today’s peek into my shopping day and of course OOTD. Let me know what you think and what you’d pair with my new purchases by leaving me a comment or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
