If there’s one thing that sucks me into buying a nail polish, it’s the name of it. Even if the polish isn’t initially a shade I would go for, if it’s affordable and it has a name which grabs my attention, I have to get it. This nail polish name attraction was never more evident than this weekend when I popped into the huge H&M on Regent Street and wandered around the cosmetic section. I came across this gorgeous dark purply/brown polish named ‘Honey, I’m Home’ which I thought was the cutest name ever and of course had to have it.
Being as it was a cute colour and had a pretty sweet name, I was doomed and of course at £2.99 it would have been rude not to pick it up. Now that I’ve painted my nails with it, I’m even more in love and I think it’s the perfect autumn/winter shade.
The polish tends to change depending on where you are, as in, sometimes it looks more brown and sometimes it’s more purple which I really like about it. It’s a really wearable colour as it’s not exactly a ‘look-at-me’ shade, but it adds a nice polished effect to any outfit. The colour is opaque in three careful coats, but this polish doesn’t go on as easily as say, a Barry M or Rimmel polish (around the same price point). I did notice a tiny bit of bubbling due to being over zealous and impatient on my part, but not enough to overshadow how gorgeous this looks on the nails.
Overall I’d recommend Honey, I’m Home if you love more muted everyday wearable nail shades, perfect for the colder months. I also tried layering this over with Models Own Ibiza Mix and it really let the glitter stand out, if you want a less crazy base for glitter polish too. Most of all, who can resist the name?
What do you think of today’s NOTD? Is this a shade you’d wear this autumn/winter? Any other H&M polishes you’d recommend? I’d love to know so tweet me @MillieDelacoe or leave me a comment below! Until next time…
