Another month has come to an end and so today I’m rounding up some absolute favourite high street finds from July. I tweeted yesterday that this would be up in the afternoon, but holiday organisation took precedence, so here we are, a day overdue, but here nonetheless! Surprisingly this month I only have five favourites as I was saving my pennies for my upcoming break and trying not to splash out on anything I didn’t need, but true to form I couldn’t live without shopping a little bit. So here we go, let’s get right into it.
Number one may be familiar to you as I mentioned/sported it in a recent OOTD, so click here for that. It’s my Mango faux leather jacket (used here as the backdrop), which at £44.99 I think is incredible value. It’s not obviously faux (trust me I’ve had plenty of people asking me if it is, or it isn’t!) and has amazing gold zip detailing which gives it a bit of edge. Mango wasn’t a shopping must for me until lately and now I’m making a special effort to go in more often after scoring this gem. I’m so smitten! This jacket is still available at Mango here.
Number two is another familiar piece that I featured in a recent spikes post, click here for that. It’s my £3.99 New Look spiked bracelet which is seriously on-trend and very reasonably priced. Brilliant for stacking, I’ve been using this bracelet to toughen up more feminine outfits to keep them up to date. You’ll likely spot this gorgeous piece of arm candy in upcoming OOTDs as I can’t get enough of it, and of course it looks amazing teamed with the leather jacket too! You can pick up a similar spike bracelet from New Look here.
Item number three is my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. I won’t ramble on about how much I adore this BB cream, but I will refer those of you who haven’t heard me profess my undying love for it, to my indepth review, here. You can pick up a sample of it here, and it really is worth giving a try if you want natural summer skin that’s perfect for the beach. It’s available at all good beauty stockists such as Boots and Superdrug and supermarkets with the Maybelline stands.
Number four is my newest purchase which is the Boots 17 Mirror Shine On Lipstick in Beehive. I’ve heard many a Youtuber chat away about how great this lipstick is, but resisted picking it up until now. I wanted a moisturising nude lipstick to take away on holiday with me to compliment the Whitney Port-esque natural make up I’ve been coveting at the moment. This is the ideal lipstick for that exact task. This is a lipstick suitable for everyday wear, it doesn’t make my lips peel, it has longevity, though not as much as some mattes, and it also smells really nice too. This is the easiest shade to wear, ever. It literally is a no-brainer and a great go-to lipstick for all occasions. You can pick up Beehive here, on the Boots website for just £4.59 and check out the hand swatch below for colour pay-off.
Lastly number five is another new purchase and it’s the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Pinched which I think is absolutely gorgeous. Ever since I heard that these were coming to the UK, after seeing Allison of Amarixe talk about them on Youtube, I couldn’t wait to try them. I’m glad to say I wasn’t disappointed. The colour choice at present is poor, we only have two compared to the selection in the U.S, but Pinched is a perfect everyday colour that again compliments that natural ‘no make up’ make up look I love at the moment. This colour sits gorgeously on top of my Maybelline BB Cream when lightly patted onto the apples of my cheeks and gently upwards and just gives me a healthy glow. If you want all-out strong blush colour, this isn’t for you, these are made to be quite sheer and to add just a hint of colour, and they work perfectly for that. At £5.99 these aren’t the cheapest blushes ever, but they are my new favourites, particularly this shade which you can see swatched below. These blushes are available in all good beauty stockists such as Boots and Superdrug.
That’s it for this month’s favourites, I hope you enjoyed it! What were you loving throughout July? I’d love to know, so tweet me @MillieDelacoe on Twitter or leave me a comment below. Until next time…
