OOTD: Shopping + Jazz!

Another OOTD for you today and this time it’s a look that had to traverse day and night for a very full on 12 hours or more. I spent my bank holiday weekend last week in Wales with my family and on the Sunday of the bank holiday, which is when this shot was taken, I spent the morning watching my brother in a rugby game and then we shot off straight to Manchester for a spot of shopping and later attended an amazing Marcus Miller gig in the HMV Ritz. After the gig we went out for dinner in a late night Chinese restaurant in Chinatown and didn’t end up getting home til 3am! Talk about an outfit that needed to multitask. Here’s what I chose for my full on day.

Being as I was out with my family, I obviously wanted a nice, cute outfit, but it had to be practical and I think I chose well. I could not have survived without my converse that day, so they were the best choice I made. The weather was rather temperamental and a tad cold, so I donned this cute, yet warm dogtooth dress which was a super bargain from George at Asda, and which I blogged about when I first got it, (click here to read that post).

The dress has a thick, almost scuba-esque lining which meant it was really snug and I could get away with a light coat. Leggings were a must to keep me warm and snug and these were also just from Asda ages ago, nothing special. To accentuate my waist I added a River Island belt which is probably my favourite one as it’s so versatile, and has interesting gold accents to match up with my accessories. As usual I’m wearing my H&M chain necklace which I feel gives this girly dress a more edgy feel. I curled my hair with my Babyliss curling wand and then brushed it out for a Lana Del Rey style ‘do as I wanted to still have nice evening hair at the gig we were going to. A few spritzes of hairspray meant it stayed put all day without fail.

Whilst in Manchester we decided to visit the huge Primark that they have to pick up some bargains, and bargains I really did find! Not only did I find one pair of amazing shoes for £3, oh no, I found two! One pair is yellow and has awesome frill detailing on the heel, and the second pair are Miu Miu-esque mint heels with silver glitter detailing up the side. I can’t believe I paid a lowly £6 for both of these lovely heels! Enjoy the shoes and some more snippets from my full on day!

That’s it for today’s OOTD, let me know what you think of this outfit by leaving me a comment below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Likewise let me know how you’d style the shoes I picked up, I’m still thinking about how I’m going to wear them and I’d love some inspiration! Until next time…
