NOTD: Super Sparkle

It’s unlike me to do an entire post dedicated to my nails, and if I’m honest I prefer to incorporate my nails into my OOTD posts so it’s all in one. However, yesterday my outfit was not particularly note worthy but my nails were super special so I decided they deserved their own post.

During a mega Youtube watching session a few days ago I began painting my nails and frankly got a little carried away. I absolutely love glitter polish and always try and put a little sparkle into my look, but on this particular evening I really went for it with the glitter. What started with a manicure just using Revlon’s Facets of Fuschia (black with dark pink glitter and hexagonal sequins) was then topped off with Urban Outfitters’ Electra (coloured glitter sequins and a dupe for Deborah Lippmann’s Happy Birthday if you’re interested). Then a few hours later I looked down at my dry nails and decided it wasn’t enough, so I added Disney at H&M’s Confetti Kisses, (a very dense silver glitter polish with silver hexagons in it). Finally I topped off the crazy nails with a coat of Barry M’s Lavender Hexograms which I got recently and which consists of purple glitter and hexagonal sequins.

Phew!

Excuse my tatty cuticles which are in dire need of a bit of TLC, I hardly noticed them amongst all the sparkle! I took these photos with two different lighting set ups so you could get a general idea of what my nails look like, and I’ll post a close up so you can see them in detail too.

I love having crazy nails on the go, and love anything a bit kawaii but I know that this look is definitely not for everyone. Have you created any crazy looks with your nails at the moment and what polishes do you love layering? Let me know by leaving a comment or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. If you’re a nail freak like moi keep your eyes peeled for my review of Primark’s super cheap £1.50 nail art pens coming up this week. Until next time…
