So last week I spent a day in Calais for no reason other than my family and I decided it would be a fun day out. Although we were disappointed at how little there was to do in the actual town of Calais, we did have a lovely day anyway and being a huge Francophile, I just love being in France regardless of what we’re doing there. We spent the day having a lazy long lunch and browsing the shops and patisseries and even spent some time getting lost in a huge French supermarket where we swooned over a lot of great food.
For our day in France I went for comfort above all else, as we had two car trips, two ferry trips and were going to be spending all day walking around. Of course I went for my trusty converse on my feet and couldn’t think of anything more comfortable than a good pair of jeans and a t-shirt so I opted for my floral Monki jeans to add a bit of pattern and interest. To tone down the jeans I wore my H&M roll sleeved tee which I’ve been living in at the moment as it’s just so versatile and so soft! I layered my outfit over with my Peacocks coat which you’re probably sick of seeing at the moment as it’s the ultimate light coat to throw over and I feel like it goes with everything.
Accessories wise I went for my new H&M chain necklace and small gold multi-faceted studs, also from H&M. Stay tuned for a grunge glam accessories post on the way in the next few days as it’s all I’ve been wearing at the moment to give my girly outfits a bit more edge. On my lips I’m wearing my new favourite lipstick and one I had bought literally minutes before I did this OOTD on the ferry and it’s L’Oreal Paris’ Colour Riche Serum lipstick in Freshly Candy which is a gorgeous light coral pink. It will probably end up in my April favourites so I’ll review it more in depth then, but for now I’ll just say it’s majorly hydrating which is great for my dry lips. There’s a small teardrop shaped section of the lipstick bullet which is like a balmy gloss which creates the more hydrating effect so at first the colour isn’t as intense, you do have to work the colour up I find.
I thought I’d insert some pictures here from our ‘jour en France’ mostly I’ll admit of macaroons or macarons, some of my favourite treats of all time and the bits and bobs we saw throughout our little French adventure.
I hope you enjoyed today’s OOTD and the little insight into our day in France. Let me know what you think of this ensemble and let me know what you’ve been wearing at the moment by leaving me a comment or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
