Videos of the Week (Lana Del Rey Special)

It’s that time of the week again where I give you a rundown of my favourite videos that have either just hit the world wide web or have just crossed my radar. This week three out of the five featured videos are all about girl of the moment Lana Del Rey so I thought it would be only be right to make it a Lana special. Whether you love Lana or not, there are two more great videos lined up for you too, so settle in, get comfy and get ready for all the music, fashion and beauty you can possibly handle in one sitting.

This first video was also the first video I put on this weeks Videos of the Week list because I loved it that much. Of course you only have to type in Lana del Rey to Youtube to get an overwhelming amount of Lana inspired make up tutorials, but of course as we know, that doesn’t mean that they’re all good. Although I love my beauty gurus, when I really want to replicate a look that’s as close to the original as possible, I look to my favourite make up artists to show me how it’s done. Luckily this week Pixiwoo’s Sam uploaded this fab video that shows you how to get a Lana Del Rey boho look which is a far more wearable look than some that are out there on YT. So if you love Lana’s old Hollywood glamour look and you’d like to make it work for day, here’s Sam to tell you how to do it. Don’t forget to subscribe for more great videos from Pixiwoo girls Nic and Sam.

The second Lana video is this lovely interview that I found where she talks to the guys at Myspace from the Chateau Marmont. It’s not a particularly new interview or even that groundbreaking, but I just thought it was really sweet and a nice way to learn a little more about the singer, she evens sings a little a capella. With Lana’s gorgeous songs playing in the background she talks about her inspiration and her music, it’s just a gorgeous snippet of film and insight into Lana’s personality. Enjoy!

Last on the Lana front is a super short video I discovered while watching the Myspace interview and it’s this behind-the-scenes look at her cover shoot for UK Vogue. I absolutely loved that issue and the gorgeous pictures so this was really fun to see how it was put together, again it’s a cute little snippet of Lana’s world but also a behind the scenes look at the amazing photography of Mario Testino.

Next up it’s another make up tutorial from my all-time favourite make up artist Lisa Eldridge. Lisa shows you how to work a super-tricky trend, pastels, into your make up. And of course she makes it look easy. This is a great tutorial if you’re a little scared of putting lots of colour on your eyes and don’t know how to keep it chic rather than car-crash. I would never have tried out this look before but now I really want to, so thanks for the inspiration Lisa! If you love this look, Lisa’s doing a giveaway of most of the products (base products excluded) that she used to create this look, so visit her channel for more information.

Last but by no means least it’s a song that has been stuck in my head tirelessly since I first heard it, and it’s Primadonna by Marina and the Diamonds. I’ll be talking more about their great new album which will be coming out later this month in my April Dates post but for now enjoy the song and the incredible styling and try not to swoon too much. It’s difficult trust me.

That’s it for today’s Videos of the Week, don’t forget to check back today for my April Dates post and enjoy your Sunday! If you’ve seen any videos I’d love this week let me know by leaving a link below or leaving me a comment. Until next time…
