You don’t get much more VIP than wearing a dress almost five months before it hits the shops. But that’s exactly what style icon Nicola Roberts has done after she celebrated her birthday way back in October in this fabulous Topshop Unique dress that has just become available in the high street store. The dress debuted at the Topshop Unique show at London Fashion Week at the end of September amongst the spring/summer collections, and it seems the gorgeous songstress snapped it up quicksmart as she was partying in it in true celeb style only a few days later!
The dress looked amazing with Nicola’s party-esque wavy hair, statement clutch and heavy cat liner. Seeing as the only other person who was pictured in this dress was model of the moment Charlotte Free strutting down the runway at LFW, it was up to Nic to pull out all the fashion stops and make this amazing dress her own. And she did.
This is such a great dress for summer events that you might have coming up, and as Nic shows, you can wear it all year round so it’s a solid investment piece. The flattering strapless shape with nipped in waist is truly timeless so you won’t be looking at it in a year’s time and asking yourself ‘WHY!?’ as can happen with many on-trend pieces. Fitting in with this season’s penchant for pastels the soft pink works with neutral colours and other pastels for a fabulous clash and the gold detailing adds the perfect amount of glamour. Being as the Unique collection was centred around an Egyptian theme, you can even go global traveller with this and pair it with tribal accessories to dress it down or up for an instant holiday look.
The dress is available at Topshop stores and online now, but hurry because it’s selling out like crazy! It comes in at £220 which isn’t exactly a huge bargain, but for a fabulous on-trend frock that’s hit the runway and hanging in the wardrobe of your style icon, you can’t go wrong.
