It’s outfit of the day time! My boyfriend and I had a lovely lazy weekend just wandering around Central London and I put together a more spring like outfit in the hopes that the weather will get better. As I’m writing this the rain is coming down in torrents outside! So we spent some time on Carnaby Street which is one of my all time favourite places to shop in London and visited one of my new must-visit shops Monki, and then spent the afternoon getting lost in Liberty which I love. I apologise for the poorer quality of the images today, we found ourselves sans camera and so had to use my boyfriend’s phone, which did an OK job but the lighting isn’t great. I hope you can forgive it!
So I’m wearing a Primark shirt, tights, flats and bag, blue Topshop top that I absolutely love and have had for a shameful amount of years, River Island pansy skirt that I got in the sale for only £5, such a bargain, River Island belt, vintage pearl studs and my ASOS watch that was a present from my boyfriend and that I wear every day. A good, completely high street outfit right here and of course I got to wear my favourite colour, mustard! Anytime I can incorporate mustard into an outfit I am a happy lady. I wore my River Island coat over the top of this which you will have seen in my Venice posts, (click here to see that).
I thought I’d insert some pictures here of the Monki store on Carnaby Street which I would highly recommend. Often with high street stores the prices are low but the clothes aren’t super current which can be frustrating if you’re a catwalk hawk and love trying out looks from the runway and giving them your own spin. That’s why I fell in love with Monki the second I walked in, everything in there is so on trend it’s almost overwhelming yet the prices are staggeringly cheap for such great styles. The whole store is centred around a story that the shop is basically a magical land which strange creatures inhabit, and you’ll see super-weird plush toys dotted around everywhere that each have their own story too. The shop as a whole is really interesting and so much fun to look around, it really doesn’t feel like your average high street shopping experience.
As I’m a sucker for pattern I just had to pick up these amazing floral jeans which I thought were incredibly good value for £30. They are a flattering, skinny fit and really soft and comfortable and of course bang on-trend. You’ll no doubt see these in a rather more impressive OOTD this weekend. My sister who is an incredibly talented photographer is coming to London for the weekend so I’m sure she’ll get some better pictures than these this week! I’ll be teaming these jeans with black heels, a polka dot or breton striped top and a pink blazer to really up the fashion ante and go for the luxe print clash look that I’ve been coveting lately.
I hope you enjoyed the OOTD, what looks have you been trying out lately and are there any new high street stores you’ve discovered? As usual let me know by commenting below or tweeting me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
