This summer has been quite a crazy one, and it is only in this very last week of August that I am heading off on my summer holiday. So before I inundate the blog, my Insta and my channel with snapshots from Santorini, I thought I’d put up this bonus bank holiday blog post, all about some great events I’ve been to lately, and thought would be fun to share. As summer is coming to an end- the autumn/winter events have begun, and I’ve very recently been to two great events, one showcasing Christmas, and the other the autumn/winter clothes that we’ll be craving in a few short weeks. House of Fraser were kind enough to invite me along to see what we’ll be adding to our Christmas wishlists, and La Redoute- what we’ll all be wearing as the crisp weather rolls in. So without further ado, let’s get into it.
La Redoute hosted their garden party event in the garden room of the Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch, which I hadn’t yet managed to visit. I will definitely be going back for their amazing breakfast, and let’s face it lunch and dinner after stalking them no end on Instagram! La Redoute had set out key pieces from their autumn/winter collection- and it was definitely very me indeed. Alongside a rail of gorgeous lace and sheer panelled black pieces, which we all know I love, they had a jewel toned rail with some very Mad Men inspired pieces, and a super 70s rail of mustards, suedes, floppy hats and leather jackets. It was all oh-so good, and they always have brilliant deals on their site, so you just know it’ll all be wonderfully affordable without compromising on quality. Macarons were eaten, I discovered my new love for the French 75, or ‘Soixante Quinze’ cocktail, and met the lovely ladies who work behind the scenes to make the brand so special- who were all as stylish as you’d imagine. I even got my hair braided by the lovely girls from The Braid Bar- definitely go check them out in Selfridges- they did an amazing job!
Another great event I headed to recently was House Of Fraser‘s Christmas preview, and let me tell you, I pretty much wanted everything- from a red Moschino backpack, to a Gatsby-esque bar cart, to the whole Biba collection- which always kills it. There is definitely something for everyone, and it was present-idea central for me, plus I already now have my own list down! As with last year, the party clothes had a definite Studio 54 meets Gatsby vibe that I adore, and the Christmas tables were laid out so beautifully. Whipsmiths were on hand to rustle up some fresh ice cream- which was delicious, and we were even treated to a calligraphy lesson by the lovely A’laise Stationery, who was incredibly patient with me despite my massive lack of raw calligraphy talent! It may seem strange to get so into Christmas while it’s still so hot here, and we’re all in shorts, but it was so lovely to step in from the heat and enter a winter wonderland. I freaking love Christmas and it can never come too soon.
So that’s it for today’s little round-up post of some of the events I’ve been to recently- I hope you enjoyed it. Definitely check out La Redoute’s amazing new autumn/winter collection, and keep your eyes peeled as we move into next season for the plethora of great party pieces from House of Fraser. Let me know which pieces you’ve spotted here today that you love the most- I’d love to know! Tomorrow I’ll be uploading a summer haul of all the pieces I’ve been picking up lately- especially for my holiday- so stay tuned for that. Until next time…
