Despite the fact that I chat about fashion here on the blog and on my Youtube channel 24/7, I realised recently that I’ve failed to share much insight into some of the amazing fashion-related freelance opportunites that I’ve had since graduating university in 2011. As a lot of you lovely ladies and gents might be looking to go into fashion yourselves, I thought I’d start sharing a little more of my portfolio over the course of this year, as I’m sure if you’re reading this- you’re probably into fashion anyway, am I right?
Back in 2010 I was very kindly invited out to Mumbai, India to work at the country’s edition of Grazia magazine, so of course I jumped at the chance. I made some amazing friends there, including Junior Fashion Editor Pasham Alwani, with who I’ve had a great friendship since, and who thought of me to assist on a shoot back in October here in London. Today, being as the shoot has now gone live in the magazine, I thought I’d share a sneak peek of some of my very favourite images from that awesome day! We shot on a crisp October Sunday just off Hyde Park, with the gorgeous model Elena Fernandes and photographer Gianluca Santoro. Mira Parmar was responsible for the super chic slicked back hair and beautiful make up, while Pasham and I styled all of the outfits.
Pasham sourced some absolutely amazing pieces from designers around the globe; Dior, Louboutin, Chanel, DKNY and Cavalli to name a few, but we also mixed those pieces with high street brands like Primark and ASOS too, to balance it out. Pasham’s vision was totally up my street, and Elena looked picture-perfect in everything we put her in, so that made our job even easier. The shots have come out even better than I could have imagined, and perfectly epitomise the striking, bold look we were going for, so I wanted to share them and get you guys inspired, ready for summer. That’s it for today’s post, I’ll see you all soon. Until next time…
