Outfit Of The Day: Penny Lane

OOTD: Penny Lane

Almost Famous has to be up there as one of my favourite films of all time, and of course, you can’t love that movie, without loving Kate Hudson’s Penny Lane. Her fluffy, seventies coat is as iconic as her character, and when I spotted this equally fluffy winter coat- I immediately wanted to create a modern twist on her look. The lovely guys at Asda asked me to style up some of their latest pieces- and I thought they lent themselves perfectly to this particular outfit- so let’s get into it…

First up of course is the coat, which has been my saviour this month as the cold weather has really set in. I’ve been looking out for one of these amazing ‘teddy’ coats for a while, and at £35 this Asda one (here) is affordable as well as super warm! To create a more lived-in looking outfit, I threw on my vintage Harley tee, which I bought off Depop a little while ago. Being as I’m massively into midi skirts, and tartan, I thought I’d add this Asda skirt (here) for extra interest and again to add to the more relaxed vibe. Finally I finished off the look with an amazing hat that I again found on Depop a while back, and threw on my trusty Dr Martens.

That’s it for today’s post, I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know if you love Almost Famous aswell and who your favourite character is, I’d love to know! Likewise let me know what you think of today’s look, you can leave me a comment below and/or tweet me @MillieDelacoe. Thanks again to Asda for letting me pick out these gorgeous winter pieces! I’ll see you all soon. Until next time…
