So fashionchick.co.uk are currently hosting an amazing giveaway, where they’re sending ONE fashion blogger from the UK to Amsterdam Fashion Week, which is obviously an incredible opportunity. All we have to do, (yes, if you’re a blogger you can get involved too) is come up with some fashion week inspired outfits that you’d wear for the event. Today I’ve come up with three looks that I’d wear for the both of the days, and for the after party! So without further ado, let’s see the looks I’ve put together. The best thing about them? They’re all put together with affordable pieces you can shop right now, this second!
Day One: Scandi-Inspired
This look to me, is very Stockholm Street Style-esque and incorporates one of my favourite Scandi brands, Cheap Monday. I love the graphic skull sweater, graphic sweaters are massive right now, and the bright pop of colour is mirrored in the gorgeous Hobbs coat which is an investment piece but totally worth it. The masculine shape of the coat is a silhouette that’s been really hot on catwalks, so this a nod to the trend, with a bit more femininity with the pink. The boots of course give height and therefore lengthen the leg, but they also look super comfy with the platform in chelsea boot style. Finally I’ve finished it off with a chunky chain and a white clutch to add a bit of much-needed minimalism, that goes hand in hand with the scandi aesthetic.
Day Two: Saint Laurent-Inspired
This look takes all the inspiration from Hedi Slimane’s super grungy Saint Laurent catwalk looks from AW13. The fluffy coat over the skater dress instantly evokes that same look, but adding the combat boots and spiked necklace helps give the punky kick that his collection also had going on. The tartan print was all over the Saint Laurent catwalk, and isn’t set to go anywhere, so this ensemble is perfect for the brisk January weather. The tassled bag adds an even more laidback, grungy vibe, and is perfect for keeping show tickets and that all-important DSLR safe for plenty of blog photo taking.
The After Party: Goth Inspired
The nineties, gothic trend is huge right now, and this look celebrates that with this gorgeous Topshop dress that takes velvet to another level. Going for a mainly black palette, with some gold accents and a bold red lip, looks super glam and yet less overdressed than going for sequins. Chic is always the best way to go at fashion week, and this understated yet edgy night look teams small-heeled boots so you can dance the night away without a blister in sight. The slouchy bag is perfect for wearing on the shoulder or across the body for easy access to that camera and the lippy for all-important reapplication!
