You guys know how much I love routing around in the Urban Outfitters sale, so you can imagine my delight when I came across tonnes of pieces this week, that coincided with my Bewitching Hour moodboard. Nineties, goth-inspired, witch-esque looks are seriously on-trend this season, with lace and velvet being major players in layering textures. Luckily for us, we can save a fair few pennies on getting the look, thanks to Urban Outfitters current 75% off sale. So if you want to get the look as seen in this week’s moodboard (here) look no further.
You can’t get much more witch inspired than with a cape, and this amazing Cheap Monday dress has just that. This gorgeous minimal frock has semi-sheer panels, and the statement cape attached at the back. The detail on Cheap Monday pieces is always incredible so you know you’re getting your money’s worth, for £12 it’s a steal. Wear this with chunky ankle boots and a dark lip.
If you want to be a bit more literal with the dark magic trend, how about this £10 typographic vest with the phrase ‘give the devil his due’ in French. Could it get more Halloween inspired? The vest also features a cross, and is prime for layering. Throw this over a lacy bandeau to mix up the textures and then it’s easy to wear under long cardigans and leather jackets. Tucked into a midi skirt, or teamed with your favourite jeans, this vest is the epitome of versatile.
Next is this £12 vintage O&O maxi skirt, which has to be layered to be wearable, which makes it perfect for this trend. Throw on some lacy or velvet shorts underneath to nail the trend, and use it to play up your favourite ripped tees and layered tops. This will look amazing with Dr. Marten style boots and longline jackets and coats, just don’t forget a hat to finish the look- fedora or bowler!
Lastly today is this gorgeous textured top, that screams autumn/winter 2013. For £12 this Kimchi Blue top is a steal and easy to dress up or down for whatever the occasion requires. This would look amazing with the sheer skirt featured above, and with other layers thrown on top, will really add more depth and interest to the outfit. If it’s a night out ensemble you’re after, wear this with a cute velvet skater skirt to add a bewitching vibe to a cocktail ready look.
