Halloween is a great time of year for DIY outfits, garish everything and one-night-only costumes. If however you want your spooky attire to last a little longer, I’ve found five great pieces that’ll keep ’til next year, and some that’ll last the year through, Halloween or no Halloween. As you probably know, I’m partial to a skull or two in my wardrobe and hopefully in these pieces you’ll see similar potential to wear them again and again rather than just for this month.
The first pieces today are these Urban Outfitters t-shirts. At £28 each, you’re not going to want to chuck them after your Halloween party or outing, so while the pumpkin one will last you another year, tucked away in the corner of the wardrobe, the skull one is a year round trend. Skulls are still everywhere in fashion right now, and I even have a very similar tee from Amy Valentine’s blog shop that I wear all the time, not just because it’s Halloween! Teamed with simple black skinnies, tough boots and a big coat this is all kinds of badass.
Next today is this super fun pumpkin jumper, that might not last all year, but which you’ll find yourself delving for every time October comes around. It’s this £38 Topshop jumper, that’s not too garish, but just Halloween-y enough to rock throughout the rest of this month. If you want to do Halloween, but a little more low-key, then this is the answer. Wear over a shirt for a more polished look, or throw on over sweats for nights in with warm drinks and horror movies.
Back to Urban Outfitters now with this fun typographic t-shirt. At £28 this isn’t one you’ll want to discard when November comes along. Graphic and slogan tees have been massive all year, so why stop wearing this one after Halloween? Just team this with high waisted skirts, shorts or your favourite jeans plus all your warm winter pieces for a seriously cute layering look that has more mileage than you’d think. I can totally see Jen of Clothes Encounters in this!
The last piece is this £30 skirt from Topshop, which is a super on-trend cut. The assymetric shape is super hot for this season, and isn’t going anywhere spring/summer either. The fact that this is white gives it more longevity as that trend too is set to stick around. The bat print is super fun for now, and who can forget the recent influx of Batman inspired pieces on the high street (mainly championed by Lazy Oaf), this is geek chic, with a catwalk lean, for all year. Team with a similarly on-trend black fluffy jumper and ankle boots.
