I’m back! It’s only been just over a week, but it feels like forever since I’ve been able to update the blog, and boy have I missed it. Rest assured though, that as of now all scheduling is back to normal and my broadband is fully in place! Today I bring you a suitably wintery OOTD from a recent trip to Hampton Court Palace and it serves to show the type of ‘uniform’ I’ve been wearing at the moment. Due to the cold weather, that now seems to be easing off, skinny jeans, a jumper and my faux fur have been my saviours and so I thought I’d share this one look with you for some inspiration for the cold days we may have ahead. It is only February.
To visit this beautiful old palace, I wanted to go for something a little moody but most importantly, something warm! I wrapped up with a fluffy Boohoo jumper (available here) and my bargainous red skinny jeans which I picked up from New Look for £10 in the sale- I’ve seen some of my favourite bloggers rocking the worn, red Gina Tricot jeans and these are a great dupe. Over the top for extra warmth I have my River Island faux fur leopard coat which is an old favourite and another old friend comes in the form of my Max C London skull bag which never leaves my side. Accessories-wise I piled on the chains to at least imply a little opulence in my outfit, we were on royal soil after all! I’m wearing my H&M star necklace which comes in a set of 2 and is available instore now, Julien Macdonald at Debenhams skull chain which comes with matching earrings and is on sale and instore now for a crazy £3, and my Urban Outfitters ‘M’ pendant. Lastly to up the gothic vibe, I added Kate Moss for Rimmel’s Matte Lipstick in 107 Wine and I’d highly recommend it for the £5 something it costs.
These shoes are making my life right now, and I actually have never owned a pair of shoes that I love as much as these. Not only are they extremely comfortable, but they give me height without the feeling of toppling, give every outfit a little more edge, and just make me feel like a bad-ass, sci-fi movie character. Seriously, how Milla Jovovich are these? As you can tell I’m besotted and was thrilled to get them as a birthday present from my grandparents and despite the designer look, they’re actually just £30 from H&M. They’re all sold out of the black pair online, but you may get lucky instore and if not, they do have these equally gorgeous patterned ones still available (here).
That’s it for today’s post, I’d highly recommend a visit to Hampton Court Palace and making the most of the free audio guides, they really help you envision the place during both Henry V and William and Mary’s reign. The tearoom (as wonderfully recommended by my bestie) had amazing grub, you have to try a traditional Hampton Court Honey Mead cake, they’re not to be missed!
Aside from that, let me know what you thought of today’s ensemble and let me know what you’ve been wearing during this British cold spell, I’d love to know! Leave me a comment below or tweet me @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
