Get the Look: Skull Style at Missguided

Skulls seem to be the embellishment of choice at the moment, they’re up there with my other favourites, studs and spikes. Everyone (present company included) seems to be rocking a skull or two on their outfit, and I’m here to show you some brilliant bits you can work into your wardrobe that nail the skull trend head on, (pun totally intended). On recently browsing the Missguided website I came across six amazing tops that can easily be worked into your wardrobe with existing pieces you own. What’s better, they’re not going to break the bank either!

First up these gorgeous shirts are definitely some of today’s more wearable pieces as the skulls are small enough to be a little inconspicuous if that’s your style. These £20.99 shirts have two skulls on the collars with an interlinking gold chain and come in black and white, so you can choose whichever one you think will have more mileage in your day to day life. These are easy to team with workwear separates for a more rebellious spin on office attire, or you can use them to toughen up a girly skirt when tucked in and belted at the waist.

Next up are two more skull detail shirts, but these two are also encrusted with diamantes across the body. The skulls this time take the place of buttons which I think is an amazing idea and makes the shirt look so much more luxe. Again the price point is great as at £23.99 you’ll get plenty of wear out of these with shorts, like the models, or with skirts to take you from day to night without a hitch. The diamantes are more evident on the black shirt making it typically more of an evening shirt, but the diamantes are much less visible on the white, making it better for day/more office appropriate.

The penultimate piece today is one of my favourites from this collection and it’s a gorgeous skull studded jumper, which reminds me of my Max C London skull handbag which I have been loving lately and which you’re probably sick of seeing in my OOTDs. This though is practically the jumper equivalent of my handbag, gorgeous, skull studded, black and suitable for a variety of occasions and easy to pair with jeans or add edge to a dress. At £22.99 it’s not at all bad for a seriously on-trend autumn/winter investment piece.

Lastly for today it’s a more garish, yet quite whimsical jumper that has seriously stolen my heart. Unlike the other pieces this isn’t studded, instead it’s a skull patterned jumper that is the cheapest of today’s pieces at £19.99. Again as with the previous jumper, I’d team this with black skinnies and most probably a slick of red lippy for a colour pop, but I think this’ll add a little fun into any autumn/winter wardrobe and definitely packs more punch than last year’s fairisle trend.

That’s it for today’s get the look post, I hope it’ll help you get your hands on some affordable skull studded or skull patterned pieces. Let me know if you have or if you plan to pick up any of these tops and how you pair them, I’d love to know. Leave me a comment below or tweet me as usual @MillieDelacoe. Until next time…
